Institute of Archeology of the CAS, Brno announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Scientist/scholar at the Centre of Prehistoric Archaeology of the Institute with a focus on chronostratigraphy of Palaeolithic sites in a global contex.

Achieved scientific rank (Ph.D., CSc.). Extensive professional experience and excellent publications. Experience in the conception, organization, and implementation of domestic and foreign research expeditions, involvement in international research teams, and possibly an already established network of foreign contacts with the potential to join new global projects. Experience with natural science dating methods in archaeology (radiocarbon method, OSL, ESR, U-Th, cosmogenic nuclides). In addition to theoretical basic research, the position's job description includes participation in the department's field, organizational, editorial, and popularization activities. Prerequisites and motivation for scientific work. Professionalism, moral integrity, independence, initiative. Appropriate language skills.

Part-time work (8 hours per week); fixed-term contract (5 years), expected to start 1 March 2025
