
Selection Procedures
Institute of Rock Structure and Mechanics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Researcher in the laboratories of the Department of Geochemistry.
Department of Geochemistry is occupied with research of composition, structure and properties of rocks including coal and derivatives using methods of surface chemistry, geochemistry and petrology. There are studies in processes of origin and accumulation of organic substance in rocks and in characteristics of biological sources and palaeo- environment. Products of not perfect combustion in relation with contamination of the environment and problems of carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas are studied.

Qualification, skills:
- Education in one of the natural sciences (chemistry, geochemistry, geology or a related field)
- Ph.D. (or comparable) or Ing./Mgr. with a view to obtaining a doctoral degree
- Experience with laboratory work
- Ability to develop innovative areas of research
- Reliability, independence, diligence, motivation and interest in science
- Knowledge of spoken and written English at level B2 or better
- Experience with writing scientific publications
