Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Research in the Conductive Polymers Department.

Opened research scientist position in the Department of Conducting Polymers in the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry CAS, Heyrovskeho nám. 1888/2, Prague 6, Czech Republic. Tender for the position is in agreement with law n. 283/1992 Sb. about Academy of Czech Sciences amended by act n. 420/2005Sb.

Working activities:

The research of the Department of Conductive Polymers is focused on the synthesis of conducting polymers, such as polyaniline, polypyrrole, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), and others, by chemical oxidation or electrochemical polymerization of the corresponding monomers. In addition, the applications of such conducting materials in the electrodes of supercapacitors, sensors or as intelligent adsorbents of pollutants in the environment are being investigated. The applicant will mainly deal with electrochemical characterization of electroactive polymers and their composites by CV, EIS, charge-discharge and EQCM. Additionally, the applicant will investigate electroactive materials in energy saving and conversion applications.

Requirements:

  • PhD in the field of electrochemistry or materials science,
  • experience with electrochemical characterization,
  • experience with the supercapacitors and battery fabrication,
  • excellent oral and written knowledge of English,
  • an active and creative approach to solving scientific problems,
  • the ability to think independently and make decisions,
  • ability to work in a team.
