Selection Procedures
Institute of Microbiology of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Graduate (PhD) student.
The person will work on a project titled “Novel Mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in bacteria“, defining so far-unknown mechanisms by which bacteria fight against antibiotics, and which we have already uncovered in our laboratory. For example, of our research on this topic see e. g.:

The person will enter the PhD program at the affiliated Faculty of Science of Charles University – this is a formal requirement, 100 % of the work will be done at the Institute of Microbiology.
The position is initially planned for four years, depending on performance and progress of the project.
Requirements:
- Msc degree in biology (at the time of starting the position – i. e. in October).
- Enthusiasm for science and eagerness to learn
- Excellent work ethics
- Good team-work skills
