Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Postdoc position in Cell biology of mammalian oocytes and early embryos The Laboratory of DNA Integrity (Dr. David Drutovic) invites applications for a postdoctoral position.

Description of the job

We are seeking a highly and self-motivated candidate for projects focusing on genome integrity maintenance (mechanism of chromosome segregation, spindle formation, cell cycle regulation) in mammalian oocytes and early embryos concerning infertility. The position includes a range of experimental activities using mammalian oocytes and early mammalian embryos, quantitative fluorescence imaging techniques in fixed and live cells, time-lapse light-sheet microscopy of oocytes and early embryos, microinjections, image data processing, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and previous practical experience with molecular biology techniques.
  • Previous experiences with mammalian oocyte work, confocal microscopy techniques and image data analysis are advantageous.
  • Good communication and time management skills are vital.
  • Ability to conduct research independently combined with a strong ability to work in a team
  • High level of responsibility.
  • Capacity to develop new methods and adopt new techniques.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Conditions

  • Full-time position for a definite time of 12 months with an evaluation period of 3 months.
  • salary of 40.000–50.000 CZK per month (depending on work experience, quality of work, and evaluation)
  • Five weeks of vacations, five sick-days, and benefits (subsidized meals, pension insurance).
