Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Research and Development Scientist – Postdoctoral Researcher Department of Polymer and Colloid Immunotherapeutics.
Place of work is Vestec, Prague-západ
Job Description:
The department’s research focuses on the development of novel biocompatible polymer and colloidal carriers for biologically active and contrast compounds aimed at the treatment and diagnosis of severe human diseases.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include fundamental and applied research in the field of macromolecular therapeutics and diagnostics. The research will involve designing structures, synthesizing, and characterizing polymer carrier conjugates with drugs and contrast agents for the therapy of infectious and oncological diseases, as well as for non-invasive imaging of internal body structures. Biological and biophysical testing of the prepared conjugates will be conducted in collaboration with partner institutions.

Requirements:
- A Ph.D. in macromolecular, organic, or materials chemistry, with at least a submitted dissertation in one of these fields (successful defense required within six months of admission).
- Practical experience in polymer and organic synthesis and bioconjugation techniques.
- Knowledge of physicochemical techniques used for characterizing polymers and organic molecules.
- A proven track record of scientific publications in the field.
- Excellent oral and written English proficiency.
- An active and creative approach to solving scientific challenges.
- The ability to think independently and make decisions.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
