Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the CAS announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position Post-Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Space Physics.

Requirements: 

• Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, planetary sciences or related disciplines
• Demonstrated publication activity
• Experience in the relevant research field
• Active knowledge of the English language
• Computer programming and data analysis skills

The preferred topics include (but are not limited to) studies of:

• Experimental investigation of the Solar wind
• Planetary magnetospheres and radio emissions
• Experimental investigation of the Earth magnetosphere
• Advanced modelling in the Solar system
• Atmospheric electricity

• Start date: 1 July 2025 or later

• 2-year contract with a possibility of extension

• brief (1 page maximum) summary of their research interests and relevant experiences,
• short (1 page maximum) proposal of their work
• copy of their PhD diploma
