PhDr. Robert Šimůnek, Ph.D., DSc.

Graduated in history on the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, Prague (1994); Ph.D. 2003; DSc. 2015. He is dealing with history of the Middle Ages (with focus on aristocratic self-reflection and representation, the urban history and social history) and with historical geography (with focus on the development of territorial and settlement structures, historical landscapes and their iconography); on these topics he published several books and dozens of studies and essays in collective syntheses. He is a member of the International Commission for the History of Towns and other historical commissions, a researcher and collaborator of a number of grant projects; member of the editorial team of the Czech national series of historical atlases of European cities (Historical Town’s Atlas of the Czech Republic); external lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University.
