The program that was created in 2021 is a collaboration between MIT, the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS, and its subsidiary IOCB Tech. It is now funded by the IOCB Tech Foundation, which contributes $100,000 per year to the program. The fund supports 3 to 5 new collaborations each year between scientists from CAS research institutes and universities in the Czech Republic and MIT partners, up to $25,000, with funding available to cover travel and accommodation costs associated with working meetings and research internships.
The preliminary period for the submission of joint project proposals within the MIT-Czech Republic IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund is from 10 September to 10 December 2024. The call will be published on the MIT website after 1 August 2024 and will be open to all scientific disciplines. Successful applicants will be decided by April of the following year and the first trips will be available in June 2025.
An online information session for those interested in collaborating with MIT and receiving support from the Fund was held on 31 July 2024.
