Vědecká spolupráce s Korejskou republikou

Předseda AV ČR prof. Jiří Drahoš navštívil začátkem srpna Korejskou republiku. S představiteli významných výzkumných institucí, např. Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) a Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), jednal o spolupráci s Akademií věd i konkrétních možnostech přímé spolupráce s pracovišti AV ČR především v biomedicíně, organické chemii, nanotechnologiích a výzkumu nových materiálů.
Mimo to se rovněž setkal s vedením korejské National Research Foundation (NRF) a s jejím prezidentem prof. Min K. Chungem podepsal oficiální smlouvu o spolupráci. Oba představitelé diskutovali i možnosti financování společných projektů. Během své návštěvy podepsal prof. Jiří Drahoš též oficiální smlouvu o spolupráci s prezidentem KAIST prof. Sung Mo Kangem.

The Czech Academy of Sciences (the CAS)
The mission of the CAS
The primary mission of the CAS is to conduct research in a broad spectrum of natural, technical and social sciences as well as humanities. This research aims to advance progress of scientific knowledge at the international level, considering, however, the specific needs of the Czech society and the national culture.
President of the CAS
Prof. Eva Zažímalová has started her second term of office in May 2021. She is a respected scientist, and a Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology.
She is also a part of GCSA of the EU.
