Academic Writing in English

Tento seminář probíhá v angličtině. Studenti se seznámí s minižánrem abstraktu a titulku a na autentickém textu si procvičí, jak abstrakt analyzovat a kriticky zhodnotit, aby ho pak sami uměli lépe napsat. Seznámí se s konvencemi odborného psaní v angličtině a z tohoto hlediska se zamyslí nad vlastním výzkumným projektem.

This workshop focuses on the mini-genre of abstract and title. Students will learn to analyse and critically evaluate an abstract, so that they are better prepared to write their own.  They will then reflect on their own research project in the light of the conventions of research writing that they will be introduced to.
